my baby has gastroschisis

I'll be 5 months pregnant tmrw and I went in for an ultrasound yesterday. I'm having a boy but I was told he has a birth defect called gastroschisis. All I kno about it is wat the doctor said and wat I looked up. I'm so scared for my baby. Advice? Similar situations? I really need some support.

It actually happens more often than u would think. Its normal to be worried but this is what drs are trained for. With all the technology these days.. they will make a life threatening issue look like a breeze to fix.
Most likely they will do a c section. I dont think they would let u deliver vaginally for fear of tearing the baby's intestines.  ASAP after birth... They will wrap the organs exposed with sterile towels to make sure they do not get infected. Most likely show u the baby then wisk the baby away to surgery to put the organs back in place. If there is A Lot of intestines exposed they will slowly try to push the intestines back inside little by little every day. Hope this helped.
