What's the process? And also in Texas it is the fathers responsibility to feed, cloth, etc the pregnant person. Whether they're married or not. Anyway, they're responsible for back pay if they don't take care of the pregnant person but... How to prove it? That he hasn't helped?

In Tennessee no they only have to take care of child.. like money through child support and insurance
Are u sure?? Bcuz they never did that for anyone I know lol that sounds more like the womans responsibility to clothe herself
Just verified through texas att general child support is NOT for the mother during pregnancy or any costs she incurred. Child support is only established after the birth of the child unless the father declares he does not contest paternity. But it still does not cover your food maternitys gas for appts etc

(H) voluntarily, and with knowledge of the pregnancy, abandoned the mother of the child beginning at a time during her pregnancy with the child and continuing through the birth, failed to provide adequate support or medical care for the mother during the period of abandonment before the birth of the child, and remained apart from the child or failed to support the child since the birth;
Agh. Why do I always get mis informed? My friend is a judge and has been for 26 years and he says yes. They do charge men back pay if they don't contribute to the pregnancy. I don't mean like get me a car or house but he works and I don't make enough and he said he'd help with maternity clothes and etc. But hasn't even bought the baby anything either. I've boughten everything. I literally have everything from clothes to crib to stroller to car seat to bassinet etc. Alone.
In Mississippi they are not responsible for taking care of the mother only the child. You also can't get back child support for the time you were pregnant. I'm not sure how your state works but where I am the absent parent is responsible for insurance on the child and they can take up to 10% of their paycheck.
Lol I have no idea hun sorry but the back pay only starts from the day the child is born it could also include labor and delivery fees but that's only if u had no insurance or medicaid and had to pay 100% of the costs
I did all that as well with no help from the father before my son was born and only got back pay for the 3 months I didnt receive child support bcuz i didn't file until he was 3 months old
Hey in California I don't think the men are responsible for that. And for child support in San Bernardino county my welfare worker told me I have to wait 2 months after baby is born to file for child support (which is rediculous)
Kmama so you got back pay? Cause I've been looking and the judge told me yes. Maybe he's confused. But he showed me what I posted. Where it says that they can't be negligent or they'll have to pay back pay for "abandonment" I'm confused :( yeah I was in Oceanside California. It definitely doesn't apply in Ca.
