My midwife said the same the stress isn't worth it im still smoking as I just can't shake it I do feel bad though
This is my second pregnancy. I have smoked through both my pregnancies. I cut down significantly but just can't stop. I got down to 6 a day. For the remainder of the day i suck on suckers.
Obviously not smoking is much better than smoking for mother and baby, but depending on the circumstances, having one is much better than getting worked up over something and possibly putting yourself and the unborn child at risk from the stress you put on yourself. As i suggested though, there are things that have stopped me smoking for over a month now and i hope they will help here (:
Try hypnosis. "Positive Changes" is a program around here that uses hypnosis for changes around overeating and smoking, and I am sure there are others. Seriously, don't let a midwife kid you, not smoking is better than smoking.
I've been the same, it's very difficult, my midwife told me it was safer to have one instead of putting your body under that amount of stress. I've found keeping myself busy and snacking on fruit has helped when i've seriously felt the need to have one and haven't now smoked one cigarette for about 5 weeks (: i hope this helps and good luck!
