Low pgstn tests... Clomid even though I ovulate?

Hi guys :-)

I had my appointment with my obgyn today and after 4 months of charting and no luck she has decided to test my progesterone this cycle, if it is low she said I can try supplements after I ovulate, and if I don't get pregnant within 2months she said that I can try clomid if I want too, even though i already ovulate on my own, she said it will help with making better quality eggs :-)
I also suggested that dh have a semen analysis, do you think it's too early?
Has anyone gone though any of this stuff? This is baby number 1 and is very overwhelming sometimes, I NEVER thought I would have difficulty conceiving, ESP as both mine and dh family members are extremely fertile.

Wow I can't believe you have been trying for that long, I have only been trying for 4 months and I cry when I get my period.... I even cried at my appointment today when my dh said he didn't want to do a semen analysis.... Not because I was mad or anything, but I hate that I am not in control it makes me feel helpless, and I was so sad when he said no I just started crying my heart out, he said yes after that lol he is amazing :-)

That's awesome you have now got to a point where you know where you are in your reproductive health :-) I'm sorry you had to go through it though. But at least now you can go through all these things and help other women like me :-)

How do you find being on clomid whilst you ovulate? Do they monitor you?

Hi hun, I'm in the same exact boat.
Been married for almost 12 yrs.  Still trying for our first.  We never used any kind of protection for the last 9 yrs and still not pg.  Long story short I had really bad periods, actually the were god awful.  Had a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy in june of 2010 and they found Endometriosis, cyst on my fallopian tube and a polyp in the middle of my uterus.  They also checked my progesterone the following month and it was only 9.1 after ovulation.  They said it was ok, means that I ovulated but the number wasn't as high as they wanted it.  They put me on progesterone suppositories every night until I had my blood test done. It was negative of course.  The good thing was the progesterone helped. I went from 9.1 to 16.3. Anyways, I to ovulate on my own and they put me on Clomid for the reason you gave.  To help with my eggs. :)  I just finished my 3rd cycle. I really pray it works.  And yes have him do the sperm analysis.  That's a simple test.  Men are simple, women are complicated lol.  Plus it'll help rule him out or you'll find out if it is him.  The sooner the better.
This whole trying to conceive is very overwhelming.  As for me month after months of negatives is very disheartening.  Everyone in my family has children and now my younger cousins are having babies and that makes it even worse.  I'm very happy for them and would never wish infertility on anyone but there's always the "when's it my turn" in the back of my head.  I wish you the absolute best hun!  Take care and please keep in touch, let us know how things are going. :)  If you ever wanna talk please feel free to add me as a friend. :)  It's always nice to have someone to talk to.

It apparently can take up to a year but it doesn't hurt to check what's going on hormone-wise
