question about labour

Im quite nervous about the whole labour thing, I still have till middle of may I just want to know from experienced mums does it all come natural. Everyone says the pushing comes naturally but does it really? Because as a first time mum I dont exectly know which muscles are involved in it and how u use them so how can it come naturally?

Alot of women lose all feeling below there back and cant feel any contractions so dont no when to push or how to push.. some women cant even go loo..so ends in a csec.. it depends on the woman and the amount they give you i supose. I just used gas and air... Its the best way for me. Id advize all women to try the morr natural birth with g&a before screaming for drugs... but not all labours and births go as smoothly as mine went... fingers crossed this time will be the same ;)

I think its 50/50 with the drugs because I have heard alot of stories where if ur body cant handle the drugs u lose all feelin and unable to push which resorts in c section

I definitely don't agree with the epidural comment. I had an epidural the whole time and they even gave me a higher dose an hour before I started pushing. The epi won't take away the pressure feeling just any sharp pains. All I felt was pressure.

I was worried about the same things. Don't worry. It does come natural and it just feels like you are severely constipated and you get tons of pressure in your butt. That's why it felt so good to push because it relieved that pressure. Your body will tell you when to push because of the intense pressure.

Seriously i no its scary but as long as your not on loads of drugs or use an epidural your body does exactly what its supposed to and you get urges to do things. After id given birth i was so releaved and all pain went.. 10 mins later i had this urge to push again.. i was like wtf im not having twins.. nurse said oh thats the placenta.. time to push again and she pulled on the ambillical cord to help remove the placenta... id completely forgot about that part... but my body told me that it was coming... our bodys are snarter than we are lol...

You get an overwelming urge to push... push just the same as you push for a poo... just alot harder...

It does come pretty naturally although I didn't push properly with my first push but the midwife told me what I was doing wrong and on the second push was fine. You have to push down through your tummy almost like if you are having a wee and you push to make the flow faster but you push much harder lol.

I just had my lil girl last night. If you go to my page I have a pic of her up and I put a comment underneath with my labor story. If you can't find it or view it I can copy it for you.
