You health visitor will come out when your pregnant too and fill out a form for stamps and stuff so that you can get formula etc with them. Like the other posts said you won't be able to get child tax credits, child benefit etc until the baby is born but you will be entitled to it. Phone your local council offices and book an appointment to speak to someone, they will be able to tell you all that your entitled to now and what you will be after baby is born and and help you know how to start to claim.
You will be able to get child benefit and child tax credits once the baby is born. Depending on how much you earn you may also be able to get income support from 29 weeks onwards.
Maternity grant sorry silly phone
Hi I replied to your inbox. You will be able to get child benefit and working tax but that's not until the baby born as they need the birth certificate to sort all that out. If my any chance you can no longer work ring the job center and they will put you on job seekers till 29 weeks then you have to change over to income support. If your on income support at 30 weeks you can get a maternity gantry of £500 to buy baby stuff you don't have to pay this back only for 1st baby
