laying on your back

Is laying on your back okay? Some people tell me I shouldn't but it's the only way I can relive back pain.

Haha! Then yep, it's too late for you, I'm afraid!  :-)   I'm sure there are a lot of factors like torso shape, length, how your carrying the baby, etc. I am 36w and can't be on my back anymore now either.  Quite sad for me, but I think I was lucky getting as long as I did!

Actually, not everyone has problems laying/sleeping on their back, although some do.  You will know if it's restricting blood flow. You will feel dizzy, nauseous, out of breath, and just generally very uncomfortable on your back.  Your body will tell you and you'll naturally want to change positions!  If your not experiencing those symptoms and being on your back is comfortable, then you should be safe to be there.  Listen to your body!  It will keep you safe.

Right side or left side is perfectly fine to lay on. Try to stay off your back when going to sleep.

Place a pillow under your butt to help tilt your uterus to the left while you're on your back.
