this may be a silly question...but

So when it's said that you can get a gender scan at 17 or whatever weeks, does that mean in gestational age of the baby or the week of pregnancy because, pregnancy is counted at the beginning of your last period. When I went in for my first sono it had been 10 weeks since my last period but the baby was only in it's 8th week of gestation which obviously makes sense. So, do I have to wait till the baby is in it's 17th or whatever week of gestation to find out the gender or just in the pregnancy? I am 17 +3 weeks pregnant and have a sono tomorrow that's why I keep saying 17, which only makes the baby at 15 weeks gestation.  I wasn't really sure how to ask this question, but surely somebody knows what I'm trying to ask. :)

I found out with my second at 13W 5days, so it's VERY possible. Especially if it's a boy. :)

I had my scan that revealed gender at 18 weeks counted from the first day of my last period, which is 16 weeks since conception.  Hope that helps.
