Baby names. pronunciation concerns.

Im full Mexican, so is my hushand and his family which most of them live in Mexico and my whole family's primary language is spanish. I dont know what gender my baby is yet but I have been thinking of names like willow,Brooklyn, and harley which a spanish speaking person would have difficulty pronouncing including my husband the baby's dad,and to be honest the names dont sound good saying them in a spanish accent. My question is, should I name my kid with a name I prefer such as the one's I mentioned or should I find one that my family can pronounce without any difficulty?

Same problem, but I mean just name it what you want ! Its like theres names in spanish, spanish speaking people cant even pronounce.  I mean im second generation here and I love the name Juliet for a girl and I guess I could name her Julieta. But ehh idk, just do what you both want. Theyll learn it eventually.  Its your baby.

This was a factor when naming my daughter i had to make sure my parents could pronounce it... i also chose my aunt's name as my daughters middle name so my father was happy.

My brother and is wife named their daughter Gabriella. My mom could not pronounce it and calls her gorilla. Now she just call her gabby.

I am having my parents pick the middle name for my child so they will have a name they can pronounce in their own language.

I'll be honest with my first son I was gonna name him Austin but my ex family didn't like it so I listened and named my son after his dad. To this day (18) years later I wish I named him Austin. So name YOUR child what u want and F*** everyone else!

I've been in the same dilemma for all three of my pregnancies,  lol. You should be able to name your child a name you prefer and not worry about the rest- people will adjust and get used to it. They may even make a nice nickname for baby that he/she will go by as they grow. Or you have the option of choosing a middle name they can pronounce. I have trouble picking names for my babies but because I get a little bothered if they can't pronounce it- that's just me. I'm sure the joy of your baby's arrival will be greater than the name you choose. Congratulations and best of luck! :D

I was thinking the same thing with my baby. But middle name helped out, i gave one that is bilingual Christian lol so if they can't say his name then they can call him by his middle name lol

It's your baby! Name your baby what you like not what someone can say! Or find a name you like that would be easy for them to learn how to say!
