Wic in wi is income based. My boyfriend and I make too much to qualify. Sometimes it doesnt pay to have a good job. When I had my first son I did qualify however he had to be on special formula due to his colic and they wouldn't cover any of it and it was extremely Expensive.

They go by your gross income..my husband works and i dont. They take out over $100 wk for health insurance then taxes so we would need wic but gross income we make too much..

Yea my husband only makes about 28k a yr.  But things are a lot more expensive in Cali!!   If they try to say anything just take about 3 or 4 of his check stubs and take your bills to show how much you pay a month on bills an stuff.  An if you can show proof of him paying child support that would help..  but like I said before they didn't ask me for any of that when I went in... :) The only place that asked for all that is DES I went in there an applied for AHCCCS.

In Cali they will give it to you. When I lived in Cali they didn't ask for how much my hubby earn it help us a lot with milk cereal and fruits bc we were really tight on money we paid 600 for an room and he earned 1000 every two weeks so take 600 and bills we had to pay we pretty much had nada left. Wic help us an lot. Now I live with my parents again and still have wic.

I qualified for wic with pregnancy and still have it now for my 2 yr old.  Qualification is based on an income cap.  You can check with the health department or local social services.  You may receive vouchers for fruit and veggies, milk, juice, bread, cereal etc.  Baby can get formula. Check it out.

I work and i qualified for wic when i became pregnant. It's a program to make sure you and the baby are getting the proper nutrition. I'm in Florida so it may be different in your state butt i would try. The worst they will do is say no:-)

Basically any pregnant woman who applies for wic gets it. It was a program designed to help women and children while their spouses were gone at war. It is not something to be dependent on, just to help supplement and take stress off the mother. I see women all the time msd bc wic didnt give them enough formula for the whold month, they dont realize its just a helping hand not a gourmet silver platter meal program. They try to base what they give you off your dietary needs. So if you plan to breast feed what you get is different than if you plan to formul feed. And you have to reapply after baby is born.
