None pregnantcy related

So this is personal but I really need help . My daughter is 7 weeks old .my daughter dad turned 16 this yr . I'm turning 20 this month I wanna out him in child support but not sure it it's safe or if charges are pressed what would happen does anyone have information or advice i really need help.

Congrats on your daughter.  What do you mean by out him for child support and if it is safe?  You mean he hasn't started paying it?  The problem with a 16 year old and child support is that he isn't an adult.  His earning potential isn't much.  So, at best, you'd get the minimum of your state.  A 16 year old usually has an hourly, low paying job and only works a few hours a week.  I wouldn't count on much financial support just yet.  Now, once he is out of high school, goes to college, etc, his earnings will surely increase and then you need to be prepared for going back to court to keep increasing how much he pays to support his child.  Hopefully it won't be a battle and he'll turn into a good dad.  

Wait--  are you talking about statutory charges with regards to your being 20 and his being 16?  That is state dependent.  What state do you live in?

Yes that's what I mean and tx.  But idk I didn't know how old he was till it was to late and now he doesn't want to help with our daughter be I want to put him on child support but I don't want to get go to prison or lose my daughter ??
