Troubles

I have been dating this man for eight years now,and we used to see each other all the time. But latly I am lucky if I see him once a week. He works all the time, and he goes to the coffe shop all the time. The coffee shop really is a place where he goes to hang out with friends and plays cards. This is his life I really don't feel apart of it at all. He is 30 years old I am 29 and not getting any younger!!!!!!! Which I have told him him, but I am not much of a nagger I honestly am quite a push over and I like to go with the flow. He is muslim and in his culture the male stays at home with the parents so yes he still lives at home with his parents. Besides that if we ever do "take the next step" well then in there culture I would have to move into his families house and "take care" of him and his family. WOW
I know alot. I am very independent I have been living on my own since I was 16, long story.
I hate fights but I am so fed up with this 20/80 relationship. Any advice?

I completely agree with RockRose. He is obviously very serious about his religion. And just Like Rose said, when he's ready to get married, they have arranged marriages. Stop wasting your time and find someone more suitable for yourself, someone who wants the same things you do.

Laura,  it's quite likely when he tells his parents he's ready to marry they will go find him a suitable young muslim woman and get them married.   I can't understand why you're wasting your time with him,  when even if the relationship goes to the "next step",  it's something you don't want.
