it is a surprise. i hope he's not planning anything big. lol. before the kids....we'd go dancing, hiking, to the park or just relax and watch movies. we went to dinner all the time and just did whatever we wanted to. he lived/worked in d.c up until this past october so i'd go visit him there and we'd go sight seeing or just hang out with his fellow marines.
there will definately be champagne and strawberries and what not. i think the hotel room is a def go.
thanks for the suggestions. anyone have anymore please feel free to give it!!!
It's so nice to see that you're the one planning something. Is this a suprise to him, could he be planning something too?
What did you two enjoy doing before the kids came along? For me, taking just one night away and getting a room is nice, but a weekend is so much better. waking up with no kids, having a full day ahead, and not having to put the kids down for bed later really makes a great time. Find a hotel with a nice resturant and bar (if you want to have a few drinks) and spend the day just hanging out. Jump in the hot tub if they have one, or go swimming (I love feeling my wife's wet body next to mine). Have a lazy lunch, a nice dinner, a few drinks and some good loud lovin' through out the day.
That's my idea of a nice time anyway, you're thoughts may be different.
I know how you feel. Every occasion that comes up, i'm always racking my brain for something different and exciting! It's always so hard to find something....
Dinner in the restaurant he proposed to you should be really nice. Very cute =) and a hotel room that overlooks the city is nice and romantic... bottle of champagne?
I also find that doing physical things together (apart from the hotel room =P) can be tons of fun. Anywhere you can try rock climbing? I LOVE trying new activities with my bf cause i find it gives the couple such a sense of accomplishment, it's fun and a great way to bond!
lol sorry cant think of anything else! good luck!
congratulations! my husband and i had a hectic first year of marriage w/ school and work, bills, and getting acquainted w/ living together. we took a second mini honeymoon just for a day and a night about an hour outside of the city. worked wonders and was relaxing and enjoyable.
thank you. i know we're definately doing dinner. i was thinking about making reservations at the restaurant he proposed to me at. i didn't think about a hotel room. there are 2 that are super nice downtown that have wonderful views of the city. hmmm....that's not a bad idea.
thanks!!!
I always enjoy a good theater show. What about dinner, a show, and then possibly some time at a hotel? Congratulations on your anniversary coming up!
