85-year-old patient in treatment of pneumonia is suffering from CO2 poisoning, and we are in urgent search of resolutions except invasive ventilator

The patient is an 85-year-old female in good physical condition, but he caught a cold and had a fever in February of this year. As he usually refused Intravenous therapy and antibiotic, he didn’t see a doctor timely. His disease got worse on February 22nd, and he was sent to the emergency department of a hospital in Beijing. It was found by diagnosing that he suffered from pulmonary fibrosis and pneumonia with Leukocyte being as high as 21000. He had difficulty in breathing, so he put on a mask for oxygen-inhalation, resulting in CO2 poisoning unluckily. Although he is not wearing a face mask now, CO2 poisoning is still getting worse and it is as high as 80 today (March 8). The doctor in charge advised to use invasive ventilator.
As the patient is aged, we are in urgent search of treatment proposals with little pain! We will be greatly grateful if you can give us some suggestions!

Have they already tried using a bipap machine for non-invasive ventilation, sometimes, this can make a person blow off the CO2 consumption.  If she does go on the vent, they usually give a person meds such as versed, this relieves anxiety and prevents any memory of the event. Hope this helps, May GOD Bless.
