Pleurisy, GERD and lung problems. How are they all connected?

I've had pain for 3 weeks now.  Started as a jab below my left breast.  Turned into what I thought was a heart attack since the pain covered my entire chest and cut my breathing short.  I was diagnosed in the hospital with having pleurisy strictly based on the gurgling sound coming from my chest.  I went home to heal but noticing some pains not going away.  I've had a persistent, fairly intense pain at my sternum.  Since this past Monday, my breathing is cut short because (I think) of my diaphragm being inflamed.  Increasing Motrin to 1200mg per day offers some relief, but pains are still there and now include lung pain in my lower back.  When I take deep breaths, upper back hurts.  I saw a doctor yesterday that put me on Protonix and I'm not sure if that or the Motrin has eliminated the sternum/esophagus pain.  I'm being referred to a pulmonary doctor and hope to see him/her this week.  Any thoughts on how all of these pains can be connected?  Most chest pain occurs on the left.  I get pains in my shoulder, inner arm and left side of left breast as well.

Motrin will give you all that pain. It's very hard on the stomach and causes reflux and gerd. Take a Prilosec and walk. Get the gas out. Gas pain can be extremely painful and stressing about it will just make it so much worse. I know this is an old post but wanted to help anyone reading.

Nexium should be taken for Gerd, the Jab you had below your breast may be from Gerd.  Z-pack antibiotic for a  the esophagus problems in case its infected, Prednisone for immflamtion in  the airways an breathing problems! Gurgling sounds you say having, sounds like wheezing if so Albuterol Inhaler and Symbicort Inhaler for Wheezing.
