body numbness

I woke up one day ,hit my albuterol inhaler ,then ten minutes later went out to smoke .i had just lit the cigarette when I felt my lips were numb. Then my face ,in just a few minutes time ,my whole body was totally numb. Not just tingling  ,really couldn't feel any sensation. The paramedics  said I hyperventilated. I know I didn't. Three hours later the nurse was digging in my wrist with a big needle .i still felt nothing . She said my oxygen  was low .i stayed numb for nearly 8 hrs. Slowly the feeling  came back. I couldn't get any answers. Do you have any idea why or what happened

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello and hope you are doing well.

It could be due to hyperventilation as suggested. But it could also be due to an entity called TIA or transient ischemic attack, which as the name indicates there is a temporary lack of blood flow to a particular part of the brain. This usually recovers, but these people are more prone for strokes. So, please have yourself evaluated.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
