I had a swollen tonsil on one side with no pain or soreness. It turned out to be lymphoma - cancer of the lymph nodes. I've had MRI, CT and tonsilectomy. They are now taking bone marrow sample. Don't panic! This condition is treatable in many cases. Yours could be a different cause, but please get it checked out. Why do you have to pay? Where do you live? Do not delay - you need to know one way or the other as soon as possible. Worrying is worse - once you know what it is, you will know how to deal with it.
what did you MRI results show ? I have the same issue, only I can't really affrd the MRI so I'm trying to find out if it is worth the money to get one done or not.
Thanks
I went to the ENT Monday because i kept feeling phlegm in my throat. He discovered i also have a swollen tonsil. The swollen tonsil could be from post nasal drip, and the right tonsil is swollen because i sleep on my right side and so it is subject to the nasal drip. Still, he insisted i get an MRI because a swollen tonsil could indicate other problems - like a tumor for one. i had the MRI last night and hope to get results in several days.
i have a really sore swollen tonsil but only on one side.
is there any point seeing a doc about it?
