Oh good lord.  An infection found in hospitals usually?  That sounds like MRSA (pronounced mursa), and your doctor did a TERRIBLE job of educating you about this.  Have you had any partners recently?  They could get it.  Household members could too.

You need to call your doctor and ask for the exact results of your culture, and if its MRSA, let me know.  I can give you some links with some good info on it.

They can do a culture for bacteria that will tell you if it's mrsa or not.  I'm assuming that was done the first time unless that provider was just guessing.

mrsa isn't technically a std but it can be transmitted thru direct skin on skin contact.

Getting this looked at again is a good idea because it could be many, many things going on. Why not cover the herpes base too and get a type specific herpes igg blood test now and then repeat it in a few months if it's negative now. That way you can get peace of mind about that too.

I'm confused - who told you it was a bacteria found in hospitals?  Did they culture that?  Treat you for that?

You can get a type specific IgG herpes blood test and find out if its herpes without having any symptoms.  It might not be accurate yet - it can take 4 months - but its worth a try.
