Massage Parlour Stupidity Causing Concern

I have read through a lot of threads before posting and realise that this question has been asked a lot but feel so worried that I need some reassurance / at least the straight answer regarding my own particular situation.

The other day- much to my regret - I made the decision to visit a massage parlour in Asia. I have been to these before and usually they are nothing more than a massage and a finishing hand job but this time it turned into something else. I never have sex with the girls. Not to get away from the pertinent details I performed unprotected cunnilingus on the girl for about 45 seconds to a minute tops. She was not particularly 'wet' and I didn't go too deep with my tongue.
Afterwards we performed mutual masturbation - she finished me off. She performed no oral on me and there was no intercourse / penetration except by my fingers.

At first I wasn't overly concerned but then I started worrying about STD's and HIV. I had no cuts on my hands and she seemed 'clean' but when I got home I noticed a small cut on the inside of my lip near where the lip attached to the lower gum. It wasn't big - maybe the size of a match-head but it got me worrying about access for viruses or infections. The next day I noticed what looked like a couple of canker sores on my gum across from the cut. I hadn't noticed them before and they were quite sore. Very red with whiteheads in the middle. 2 days later they are still there. I'm hoping that they were there before and I just didn't notice them... Could they be the first signs of an infection?

Given the length of my oral contact with her do you think I am at risk for any STD's or HIV?
I read somewhere that only Herpes was a real risk for infection through oral on a woman - is that true?
If not what should I be worried about and when would I see symptoms?
Should I get tested?

Please help - I'm freaking out here...

the soap would've caused issues within a day or two, not a week later.

follow up on your symptoms monday if you still have them so you can stop worrying so much .

I was really over the guilt of the massage parlour incident until this happened and although I rationally know that any symptoms that could have been caused by that event would have showed up a long time ago, irrationally it was the first thing I thought of as being the cause.

So, that being the case - your position is that it's not an STD, which is good - but I'm still perplexed by what could have caused it. You say the soap wouldn't have caused symptoms a week later but JesseJames seemed to be suggesting it might and I have no idea what else might have been the trigger.

I have had no other sexual contact with anyone besides my wife since my initial stupidity; my contact with the massage girl was very brief and low risk to begin with; all STD symptoms would have appeared by now and I have had none; so what could it have been??

it's been long enough now that if you can't let go of the guilt of the encounter you had back in May, you need to be talking about it with a professional therapist or counselor. We've assured you that there was never any reason for worry at all several times now.

no soap won't cause symptoms a week later.

follow up monday with your provider if symptoms are still there.

as far as your wife giving you "something", not that it's fair to expect her not to be having other partners since you do of course, even what is "normal" bacteria in our urogenital tracts as well as our oral area, isn't always so normal for our partners and can cause us symptoms. No reason to always be suspecting the worse with urogenital issues.

Heh - you might be right.
I've been looking up symptoms and incubation periods all day long and nothing makes sense. The timing being what it is - the only thing that makes any sense is if my wife gave me something and I don't even want to consider that option.

So perhaps you can help me out a little as I've not been able to find any info on Urethritis due to chemical irritation as you seem to be suggesting this is:

Is a week a normal amount of time for this to develop and display the symptoms that I have?
Will this clear up on its own or should I go and see someone?

I've been drinking a ton of water and cranberry juice all day and must admit that the 'urgency' and frequency of urination have decreased but the discharge is still there.

Thanks a lot.

Hello

Nervousbrit, I think that name fits you well.   You worry too much unnecessarily.

And I think you know the answer to your question about the sex in the shower.
Lets not get any soap/lotions/shampoo/beer (yes I've done that before)/or any other liquid  near your urethra.

Good luck, stop thinking about STDs.  Let go what happened 3 months ago.   No more massage parlous.

I should mention that it is now about three months since the incident that caused my initial concern.

Yesterday while on a long flight I had the strong and persistent urge to urinate frequently and a slight burning sensation while doing so. This morning I had the same urgency and noticed a slight white discharge from the tip of my penis.

About a week or so ago my wife and I had vigorous sex in a shower and there was a lot of soap and lather involved - is it possible that I have developed a urinary tract / bladder infection due to this activity that is just now showing symptoms or could this be NSU or Urethritis?

Re-read everything you have been told and it should answer your question.

19 days and no symptoms - am I in the clear??

7 days after incident I experienced a strange sensation at the corner of my mouth kind of like a burning sensations - it was very brief - perhaps for only 30 minutes. Wasn't painful just kind of uncomfortable. When I checked my mouth out in the mirror I noticed a reddish area at the corner. In the past I have had cracked lips and cracks in this general area - this is what it looked like but I'm wondering if it could be HSV1. From what I have read incubation is 2 - 12 days and I am right in the middle of that now.

I have had genital herpes for about 15 years but rarely get outbreaks any more.
Is it possible to have both kinds of herpes?

I'm right back to freaking out again...

As a follow up to my last post - just to summarize

1: The Canker sores (if that's what they are) are not symptoms of an STD as they appeared too quickly after the incident.

2: My risk for acquiring an STD through the contact I experienced is very, very low even if the girl had one (which I have no idea about, but statistically the chances are that she did not)

3: If the canker sores were present in my mouth at the time I performed oral on the girl they could have increased my risk but it wold still be a very low risk considering the exposure time.

4: Usually the only STD acquired from performing cunnilingus is Herpes the others are only theoretically possible but the incidence is so low as to be almost zero risk.

Are those points factual?

Thanks a lot

Thanks Grace - I don't want to worry about this any more, it's been a very worrisome week and you guys have been very helpful but if you don't mind could I just ask for a bit more clarification?

You say that the cankers could be from the 'trauma' of performing oral sex and that they aren't std related but you also say that open portals into the body for germs. I'm not sure how to read this. If they are from the trauma of performing oral then wouldn't they be std related?

As I mentioned before I didn't notice until a day afterwards but they are still there and don't seem to be going away even though I have been using salt water solution to rinse my mouth most nights.

Any thoughts?

the cankers can be from the "trauma" of performing oral sex. they aren't std related. because they are open portals into the body for germs, if this partner did indeed have a std, they could increase your risk of contracting one. As I already said, the overall risk is very low though and really no reason for testing unless you develop oral symptoms.

no reason to worry more about this than you have to :)

No, you won't have penile discharge from you performing oral.

It's difficult to say anything conclusive about the cankers but it's most likely unrelated.

Oops forgot to ask - you think the cankers are completely unrelated?
They're still there but don't seem to getting any better or worse

OK - thanks but just so I'm clear - there would be no penis discharge or irritation from an oral exposure to either??

Thanks guys.

Syphilis is on avgrage 21 days. Yes only at the point of infection. Gonorrhea more like 5 days.

OK so I should wait to see if anything develops.
How long before i would see signs of Syphilis and would it only be at the site of infection i.e mouth and tongue? I understand Gonorrhea is 7-10 days for symptoms and Chlamydia isn't generally a concern.

Thanks again everyone

yes it would increase your risk if she has anything genitally but still its a low risk in general. Unless you develop any symptoms orally, really not worthwhile to test for anything.

What do you think about the presence of the cankers / whatever they are? Coincidence  / something I didn't notice prior or a cause for concern?
Could the cut on my lip have increased my chances for an infection?

Thanks for all your help.
