Can Smoking trigger Urinary tract burning feeling?
Can excessive chain smoking trigger a burning feeling in a woman's urinary tract, or otherwise cause any particular STD to flare up? I've had these like recurring "UTI's" for the past month or so that wont seem to go away, and am also a fairly heavy smoker according to my friends. I went to a free health screening and tested negative for gonorrhea and chlamydia, and they said they thought it might just be like a routine UTI. Someone else I ran into told me it could be caused by like smoking, but that doesnt make any sense does it? What else could it be?
Well, I got a negative for the Herpes and HIV at the free health clinic, which is a huge relief; but I've still been having very painful burning during urination and trouble keeping it in sometimes. The resident at the health clinic gave me a prescription for generic Cipro, since she said it appears that I have a very aggressive UTI. Im supposed to follow up with them by next week if it hasnt improved, and they may run another battery of STD tests to see what else it might be.
I hope they figure it out. I had another accident this weekend on Saturday night, because I hadnt been able to pee all day Friday or Saturday, and felt like I was going to burst, but still got dressed up to go out to a party and was practically doubled over half the time from the pain of not being able to urinate. Even though my Dr said not to drink while on the antibiotics, I went ahead and had several drinks at the party, hoping it would help relieve the pain.
Turns out the half a dozen cocktails I drank at the party also seems to have loosened me up enough so that one minute I was standing outside smoking another cigarette, the next minute I felt this uncontrollable urge to pee. I didnt think I could hold it until I got to the bathroom, so I had to run around to the side of the house where the party was and ended up peeing in the bushes. It still had a painful burning feeling when I peed, almost like I had glass inside cutting me, but at least I was able to get it out without too many people noticing, although I did end up accidentally peeing all over my panties, which I decided to use as a wipe and leave in the bushes. I told the one guy who noticed me stumbling back from the bushes that I had been feeling sick, but that I felt better. He was really nice about the whole thing, and brought me another drink, since I didnt want to go inside. After a few more drinks, I ended up asking for him to take me home with him, which he did, but at least I hadn't wet myself in the night this time when I woke up in a different guys bed after another party.
I dont know what this is, but its starting to scare me.
this is well worth a proper follow up with an urologist/urogynecologist for.

So after a worryingly wild New Years Eve, and what I kinda think might have been unprotected sex, but Im not sure or not; I went ahead and got tested for Herpes and HIV, but I havent got the results back yet and they said a blood test might not show the positive yet. I really dont think it's Herpes cause i dont have any sores or anything, although I may like need to get a syphilis test done just to be sure.
On New Years Eve I accidentally wet myself again twice, both times were pretty bad, even though I was admittedly drunk. The first time was while I was in line at for the bathroom at the party and I didnt think I could hold it any longer because it burned so bad, when it just started comming out all down my legs and into my new Steve Madden heels. The second time was early the next morning when I woke up in this guys bed, and had peed in my sleep, which I dont think Ive done since I was maybe 9 years old.
I was super embarassed, because Im afraid its getting worse. Like, even though Im totally way more of a chain smoker now than I used to be; I still dont see how smoking could have anything to do with it, because Ive been smoking for like 5 years and this just now started happening. I mean, I know Im only 18, but seems like way too young to be having these kind of incontinence problems and burning feeling every time I pee. The nurse giving me the blood test was stumped about what it could be too.

urinary incontinence and the urge to go /can't hold it are all symptoms of many different things. alcohol makes most of them worse also. at this point you should also be following up on all of this with an urogynecologist or urologist if your regular provider can't figure it all out.

also, smoking and other bad habits can filtrate through your urine... try drinking more water. How old are you? I would talk to a urologist about your bladder issue. there is a urologist forum here you can post questions...
I diagnosed myself with vulvodynia after going to doctor after doctor and paying special fees bc no one could figure it out and kept sending me everywhere. try googling to learn more about it, smoking and not eatting right can trigger it BUT you would need to talk to your doctor about this. I'm not tellin gyou that is what you have just something you can thing about looking into if everything such as the HSV test come back neg.

herpes is very painful and you would have notice sores if you looked... I would call to see if youwere tested for herpes and other stds like HIV, and syphilis. but you would have had your blood drawn so you should know that much...
getting Pregnant isn't the only thing that can happen to you if you have unprotected sex, there are worse things like HIV or other STDs that you can't cure with a bottle of meds.
If you haven't gotten tested for herpes, syphilis and HIV I would suggest doing so to learn your status. I would also recommend testing for Trick that could cause burning.

Yea, i know smoking is bad for me, im not a total fool, but do totally love smoking and dont ever really want to quit. But yea, I probably was not the nicest person this year, and I was really stupid about some unprotected sex, but thank god i didnt get pregnant.
I cant remeber if the test included herpes or not, but ill have to check and see if that was included. Can herpes cause me to have such painful urination? does it also cause any kinds of incontinence problems? ive kinda been wetting myself lately by accident, and other times feeling like I couldnt hold it in - I dont know if thats herpes or what - but its a huge pain to deal with when trying to get ready for monster New Years Eve parties.
smoking is bad for your health overall. You must've been a very bad girl this year if santa gave you cigarette's - that's worse than coal.
have you been tested for herpes at all? did you get treated for uti and then repeat your testing if symptoms returned?
