STD or?

So I developed a red boil looking thing about a month or two ago. I left it alone and today I looked at it, its now a lot smaller, not a lump anymore, there is dry skin on it and now theres a hole in it. the hole is just blood, it doesn't have anything else in it. I'm not sure if I should be worried or if I should just continue to let it take its course. It used to hurt, but now its fine.
