Chances of me aquiring herpes

I have only had 1 sex partner my entire life until last week, in which I was drunk and had sex with a girl who had herpes. I did not know prior to us having sex as she did not disclose this info. Prior do us having intercourse our foreplay included her giving me oral and me rubbing inside her vagina with my fingers and outside her vagina with my penis for a good amount of time. She placed my penis inside her for less than 5 seconds and I stopped her and said I need a condom. With a condom on me we had sex for about 10 minutes and the condom broke midway through and I was inside her without protection again for another 5 seconds before I put a new condom on. The next day she said she had something to tell me and that her vagina was bothering her and she said she thinks she might have herpes that were passed to her from an ex-boyfriend but she was not positive (which is a lie of course). She goes to the doctor the next day and he says she has herpes and that this is a mild case and that her outbreak looks to have just began. She tells the doctor about me and he says I should have nothing to worry about because when we had sex the sores were probably not visible. It has been 4 days and I see no signs of anything but my penis head tingles inside, which may be a mental thing. She also gave me her Valtrex, which I started taken yesterday (1 500mg pill per day) SOOOOO.....WHAT ARE THE CHANCES THAT I MIGHT HAVE GOTTEN HERPES???????????

Taking the valtrex is a bad idea.

One, you probably don't need it, and two, if you do have it, it could prevent you from getting an outbreak, thus alerting you that you do have it.

Your chances of getting herpes from this are so low, and I don't understand why you are freaking out.

Thank you for the calming words AJ I have been a mess for the past 4 days. You read a lot of stuff online about herpes being highly contagious. I am worried because she had symptoms a day or two later....maybe she is lying or she didn't know she had the symptoms the day we had sex. She was under a lot of stress the prior week and I know from my recent research, that that brings out the herpes. I am taking the Valtrex really to calm my nerves because if something shows up on me I am going to lose my mind!

Relax.

Your chances of getting herpes from a 1 time mostly protected encounter when your partner had no symptoms are very very low.

I wouldn't take the valtrex - you have no need to - and I would just stop worrying.
