Did I get tested too soon?

I had unprotected sex on January 22nd and douched a couple days later (I know better but I was paranoid and did it anyway) and was tested for Chlamydia, Gonarrhea, Trich, Syphillis and HIV as well as Yeast Infection and BV on February 2nd. I was diagnosed with a Yeast Infection and all of my results for the other tests were negative. I was told by the doctor to use Monistat 7 to treat the YI but wanted to speed up the treatment and took Monistat 3 instead. I did have sex twice after treatment and drank beer. I've not had any sex or drank any alcohol since. The symptoms didn't seem to clear up plus I had burning with urination so I (as advised by a nurse) took Monistat 1. I still had burning with urination after the one day dose. I started my third round of Monistat treatment (this time Monistat 7) on Sunday, Feb 21st and finished my last dose on Saturday night. I still have mild burning with urination and it looks like maybe some of the medicine is still inside of me. So, my questions are as follows:

1. Is 11 days too soon to test for Chlamydia, Gonarrhea and Trich? I know I will need to re test for HIV/Syphillis in 3 months.

2. Can the three rounds of Monistat cause the inside of my vagina to be irritated causing the burning with urination?

3. I have been really stressed about this since this happened to the point I called off of work today because it is all I can think about. Can stress have anything to do with it?

4. I'm going to be re tested this Friday to put my mind at ease but is it neccessary considering my results were all negative?

5. How long after completing Monistat does it take for all of the medicine to come out of you?

I have been beating myself up really bad since I had unprotected sex and I feel like I am going crazy. Any help is GREATLY appreciated as Friday feels like it is months away and knowing I will have to wait another whole week for the results. Thank you so much in advance.

I'd certainly still cover the herpes base at some point with a type specific herpes igg blood test.  Better to test for it in april or may and find out you don't have it then to ignore testing for it and find out you have it a few years from now after you've transmitted it to a partner :(

Hi Grace! I was lucky and got into my gyno today. She said there was no reason to further test for stds as everything looks normal and since I tested negative (I will, ofcourse re test for HIV and Syphillis again later). I tested negative for yeast and BV. I do, however, I do have a UTI. She also said that (as you did, too) that I irritated myself with all of the Monistat and the fact that I washed myself so much during all of this (at least 3 times a day). I started my prescription today. I feel so much better, I do believe I had myself so stressed out that I may have made the symptoms seem worse than they were. I want to thank you for the peace of mind, last night was the first night I slept for the last three weeks. Bless you :)

This certainly could be herpes going on as well as a uti. More testing will give you more answers. even just treating this often with otc yeast treatments can be causing the symptoms at this point. The 3 day and 1 days are very irritating.

Also, one more question. I don't have any sores or anything like that, should I test for Herpes to cover all my bases or do these symptoms sound like Herpes? Thank you, again, and sorry to ask so many.

Thank you, Grace. I am going to call my gyno tomorrow and see if I can get in ASAP. Since I tested negative for Chlamydia, Gonarrhea and Trich, do my symptoms sound like a STD? I have searched the internet for weeks now and my nerves have the best of me.

Thank you, again SO much.

it still takes just as long for the yeast infection to clear up whether you use the full 7 day treatment or the 3 day treatment. The 3 day doesn't work faster, it's just more convenient.  same with the 1 day treatment - it doesn't work in 1 day.

as you know you need to repeat your syphilis and hiv testing later on. you also need tested for herpes if you are covering all your bases. you need to wait 3 or 4 months post encounter fo ryour herpes igg blood testing to be accurate.  you waited long enough for chlamydia , gonorrhea and trich though.

You need to stop self treating for yeast. Odds are this isn't all yeast going on at this point and all you are doing is irritating things more by continuing to take the yeast medications. You should be seen earlier than friday for a proper exam and also more testing.
