herpes outbreak, complications, or just irritation?

I'm a sexually active 17 y/o girl who has been for about 2 years now with the same partner. About a half a year ago I was diagnosed with genital hsv-1 and had a very minor initial outbreak thanks to the strand (about 2 tiny sores on the left side of my vulva that went away after about a week with acyclovir). 2 weeks ago I had sex with a different man (using latex condoms), but 10 days ago I was starting to developed a sore around the same area as my first herpes outbreak so I figured it was another one. I got the medicine at the first signs and took it for the 5 day period, but the sore hasn't gone away yet. It hasn't even turned into an ulcer or a blister either, it's just a small slightly swollen purple-ish red bump that only hurts to the touch. At first I thought it might be an irritated gland from my jeans, a new sex partner, or shaving (which i had done about 2 days before hand) but then I started getting a little bit of spotting and thin, orderless white discharge, I'm on birth control so that may be where the spotting came from. But just a few days ago my right vaginal lip started getting a little sore. When I looked at it, it looked very swollen, but not red. There is a raised line of dry white skin, like scar tissue or an infected cut. Does this sound like any other STD, another herpes outbreak, or just bad timing for my body?

How long after the appearance of the genital lesion did you get the blood test done? If it was less than 3 or 4 months then I'd repeat it again just to cover the bases.

Yes, i was diagnosed from a culture sample that it was herpes, but the blood test showed positive for type 1. My first partner swore he had been tested and came back negative, but once i got it admitted to having cold sores all his life. Needless to say I'm not very trusting anymore. As far as the second one goes... that was just a one night stand with a close friend without much thought.
I took another look at it this morning and you can only tell it's swollen when the skin isnt pulled back, but once i do that it just looks red and inflamed. From a frontal view no bumps are visible, but angled two very small ones close together are visible just because of shadow patterns and touch. The only reason i believe it's another herpes outbreak is because the location. I'm planning on going to the clinic tomorrow.

How did they originally diagnose you as having hsv1 genitally? Did you have a lesion culture that said hsv1?

You can still contract hsv2 too.   Are you talking to partners about them getting tested for herpes to know their own status?

I totally agree with jess - this needs further evaluation by your provider.

It doesn't sound like herpes if its not resolving.

It could be many other things - another std, bacterial vaginitis, a cyst under the skin - and any combination of those.

You should get it checked by the doctor though, and get tested for other stds and bv.
