Can STI symptoms occur in just over 12 hrs?

Was in a porno cinema and to cut a long story short, I went down on him. Less than 12 hrs later I wake up with a sore throat and what feels like phlegm in my throat.

However there was a lot of people smoking there and I have had a cold recently but not a sore throat. My glands feel slightly swollen.

Too early for gonorrhoea?

It's a really short period of time for a STD to show any symptoms to be honest. But if you performed oral sex on a man, you should know that you exposed yourself to several STDs. You can test as it follows:

-3 weeks after the exposure, you can test for gonorrhea.
-6 weeks after the exposure, you can test for syphilis, and if you get it negative, you can repeat it 3 months after the encounter, as there are people that take longer to show a positive result.
-3 months after the encounter, you can test for herpes.

All the best.

Cheers. The swelling I think was due to rhinitis as I sometimes suffer in air conditioning and smoky areas. It has gone down. I spent the next day cursing myself for absolute stupidity.

Will be taking the tests as soon as it’s possible.

Thank you for your reply.
