It is a virus that human kind has dragged for a very long time, it is transmited the same way hiv virus is, at one point in time hiv was classified as Htlv3, most of the people infected with type 1 don't develop health issues, the consensus is that 1 in 20 will suffer consequences from the virus, but that usually happens after decades of infection. It can be transfered by a mother to child, through sex, and sharing needles or blood transfusions, organ donors. There are no cases that are known to me... I told only what I theoretically know. But to answer your question sex is one of the ways to transmit the virus...

With sharing needles, does it need to get directly into a vein or could it be from a needle poke? A lot of people in my class had this question about all the blood pathogens? Do you happen to know the latest statistics? Thanks!
Your question is I'll conceived, the virus needs lymphocytes to replicate it self, are lymphocytes contained only In the blood vessels? No, so logic dictates that you don't necessarily need to puncture a vein or an artery with the needle for successful transmision. Though the chances will increase with a vein as there is fertile 'soil' for the virus. And no I do not know the latest statistics, but I think you can use research gate, to find good publications for educational purposes, they are some very curious viruses...
Thank you again. As far as sexual transmission it’s the same as hiv? Semen and vaginal fluid? Sorry I’m working on a project for school anout infections and need some extra help.
Yes the virus is shed in the genital secretions!
Ok last questions.

How do I explain what lymphocytes are and does the needle size matter when sharing needles?
I'm not sure if this is a prank, or a real question, lymphocytes you can look up on Google there are plenty good explanations, and no the needle size doesn't matter, provided that it is big enough to pierce the skin :)) best of luck with your school project
Not a prank sorry if I make it seem that way. Just had a lot of questions
