Possibilities other then herpes?

Hello,

So I am a mid 20s white male living in the south eastern part of the United States. Over the last weekend I was spending some time in the woods hiking some trails(Sunday afternoon), I am unaware if I came in contact with any kinds of poisons plants(more on this later.)

Later that day I spent the night with my new girlfriend who I have been with for the last month. In the morning we had unprotected oral sex and protected vaginal sex(8/29) we have also had protected and unprotected vaginal sex in the prior three weeks. She claims to be 100% STD free, and I have never had any form of HSV outbreak in my life (Oral or genital) to my knowledge. Prior to starting my current relationship (that is now in peril because of my honesty with the situation) there was another female partner who I had 3 unprotected sexual encounters after a night of drinking. this was approximately 6 weeks ago. About two weeks after her I came down with a nasty cold, swollen glands in my neck, cough with phloem, and a fever >100 degrees. But other then that no other major signs. (I tested myself for HIV via oraquick at the week mark and came back negative, I know this is a bit soon, but I took that test as I was starting to feel better from the cold, so that leads me to believe if it was hiv I would have had antibodies to it, anyway I am currently getting another test for it regardless via bloodwork) I have also talked to this partner and she sent me her recent negative test results to almost all STIs but did not see HSV in the batch of tests. (It has been 6 weeks sense her and I didn't see any sings of a problem at all, I was paying fairly close attention to everything at the time)

So now that a little bit of the sexual background (recent) is out of the way.... This is what is going on currently.
I woke up Wednesday morning with a small somewhat painful spot on the side of my penis, looked somewhat like an ingrown hair, or clogged pore... I chocked it upto my increased levels of sexual activity and didn't worry too much about it. Later in the day I started to feel a tingling/burning sensation on the glands. I go to the bathroom to investigate, and sure enough a small raised blister (single on both of these spots not clustered) this was maybe 4 hours after noticing the first spot. Then about two hours later I notice the same sensation, go to the bathroom to investigate and sure enough another spot about 1cm away (bottom part of penis, near glands between shaft and glands) a single blister similar to the 2nd one I noticed. I was already a bit freaked out after the second one and the 3rd sent me into near panic. Also, these blisters started draining and scabbing fairly quickly (within hours of discovery)

I went to the doctor in the morning and was examined after describing my history. She explained that this could have been picked up and stayed dormant sense my first sexual partner years ago, or anyone in between. (I can see the logic, but with a vast majority of people getting symptoms within the first two weeks or so I highly doubt that is the case for me. Because I am pretty vigilant when it comes to these things) during this examination I also gave a bit of miss information as I was confused on the differentiation of cold sores and canker sores and said I suffer from cold sores. (Prior miss diagnoses, that was never confirmed by a VA Doctor who saw a canker sore and prescribed Valtrex right away, so I went with the idea that were cold sores)

Anyway after discussing the history, and the issues the doctor examined the sores and said that they look suspiciously like herpes. I ask if there was any way to tell with a higher degree of confidence and she tells me in short "no" she gives me a 10 day cycle of valciclovier, and orders a full STI panel including HSV.

now, with the information known... Is there a high chance of this diagnosis being wrong?
There was the time in the woods, and yes I urinated in the woods, but am unsure if I can in contact with any poisons plants (I was bit by two ticks, and had a lot of what looked like bug bites on my legs, even though I was waiting long paints.)

Then there is the issue of the spots not being clusters, and the rapidness of there progression. I am just not sure, and worried about this all... I know the test will either give me a good negative baseline, or tell me I may have been a carrier longer then the last 3/6 weeks... Or will it pick up this first possible outbreak if it is that?

Also I talked to my current partner about what is going on, because I believe in being open and honest about what is going on. And she freaked out, she claimed that she has never had anything and then went to examin herself, and found nothing. She then also went to a doctor, and is waiting on test results as well.

I am trying to maintain a dialogue with her as best I can, it is understandable that she is scared and probably wants to blame me as she feels like it can't possibly be her (but it could be either of us, if it turns out to be that)

Also, if I get a negative result from my test, also tests negative, should we get tested again a few weeks from now to confirm? Or what if I test negative she tests positive or the other way around? What could those possibilities mean?

Hi, yes there is a high chance its not herpes.
1. Sores develop before flu like symptoms
2. the distance from the first sore to the third one. Most often they are right next to eachother in a cluster as when the first one opens it spreads to the immeditate surrounding area.
3. the scabbing time is too soon.
4. they would be painful

What i would do if they are still there is have them swabbed and retest. If your doctor did not swab them at the office vist they dont know much about herpes.

Thank you for the fast turn around. I sadly won't be able to go back to a doctor as I am headed off to work, and it is far from home for me.

The doctor also said the swab testing can provide a lot of false neg results especially after the sore oozed out.

Also the first spot is hardly noticeable now and it's been about 72 hours. And as far as pain, there's a little  discomfort but isn't nearly as bad as say a canker sore
