Post-Gonorrhea

My ex-boyfriend gave me Gonorrhea last year . They gave me antibiotics , and i took all my pills. I know its important to have a follow-up appointment , but i havent gone back to the doctors. Soon after finishing the treatment, painful bumps appeared on my vagina.  I still get them from time to time. Can it be that I still have gonorrhea?  Do you get bumps, if you have gonorrhea? im really scared and thats kind of why i havent been to the doctor. I do plan on going soon , but i just need some answers now. Im embarrased and ashamed, because i used a condom every time i had sex, and the one time i didnt use a condom , i got a STD.  Im really depressed , i keep thinking about it , and i really need answers.

Hello queen11 my gfriend had Gonorrhea and when I got tested, I came back NEGATIVE so I obviously thought she cheated on me. Oddly enuf I had Strep throat soon b4 and I was gvn Pennicillin so I am wondering id maybe I had it but the Pennicillin cured it b4 I was tested for Gonorrhea. My GFriend claims to hv only had 3-4 sexual partners and mostly protected and they always were Months to a year in between partners changing. I hv no idea if maybe she had performed unprotected oral sex. My question to you is what antibiotic did they give you? I know that symptoms per WebMD says cramping, bleeding, fever, pain when urinating, and pelvic inflamm which are like sharp pains. I did read one website that mentioned maybe vomitting and pus but I did NOT read anything that stated bumps. Untreated can caus l;ongterm problems. It can b cured and it needs to b because it makes u more vulnerable to HIV during unprotected sex. I want to know what is the common time frame for Gonorrhea b4 obvious symptoms in woman and in men.

The bumps are probably unrelated to gonorrhea. See your Dr.

did you have a shot in the arm or butt with your gonorrhea treatment? If not, you definitely  have to repeat your gonorrhea testing. Gonorrhea that is not properly treated can lead to long term fertility issues so you need to follow up on this sooner rather than later.  Most strains of gonorrhea currently are only responding to ceftriaxone and not oral antibiotics so you might not have been properly treated.

you also need to be seen and request a type specific herpes igg blood test.  reoccurring bumps can be a sign of herpes so cover that base. also get properly tested for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally to see if either of them are an issue.

stop back and let us know how your appointment goes.

Well the gonorrhea didnt quite go away . so they gave me all the medication i needed , and the small bumps were actually caused by the gonerrhea . having bumps is rare but if the gonerrhea isnt treated it causes little bumps - like fever bumps which is a reactant to the infection.  Everything is good now.
