Testing question

On the usual doctors "dipstick" urine test, the said my urine was "clear". Meaning no sign of infection.. I assume no wbc's and no sign of bacteria.. I have been previously tested for clamydia and Gonoreah  via urine test at gum clinic... Negative.   Took those tests again a month later...negative.   Doctors vist was after this.  I have pain in penis, no discharge, no burning pee. Occasional burn when ejaculating. Doc said urethritis.... Have me cipro 500mg twice daily for 15 days, then took urine sample, which was clear. If I had mycoplasma genitalium or other hard to test for organisms, would I have at least had lurkocyte or wbc in my urine?

Thank you, I have posted my whole story on several communities here, I realize there is no internet diagnosis!!! Quite a few members have replied to my barios posts,  also stating that this doesn't sound like an std.

Actually, I don't think this is necessarily Mycoplasma related.

Uretritis can also be caused by Haemophilus Parainfluenzae.
It's mainly said to be a respiratory tract infection, but it WAS found in several cases of gay men as being the cause of non-gonococcal urethritis (its not serious btw, and hypothetically, according to what my doctor told me, it CAN be cleared by the immune system), and it was transmitted in a sexual manner (though I would imagine the bacterium could under the right circumstances invade the Urinary tract and cause discomfort).

Now, even if you aren't gay, that doesn't mean you can't have it.
Keep in mind that gay men can simply be more meticulous about their sexual health and are (possibly) more likely to report potential problems or nag their doctors to get to the bottom of things (which isn't a bad thing).

But your symptoms are not necessarily indicative of an STD as such.
If it is Uretritis, I would recommend you get penis swab test done.
Urethral swabs are stated to be more accurate than urine samples.

Hi Vance, and thanks for your responce! My penis hurts! You have told me before on other posts my problem is not std related..... But I read a lot of posts here and in the expert forum about m. Genitalium being big cause of urethritis , I also read the doctors here stating that it cannot be contracted by recieving oral sex... But all the medical information out there says otherwise! Just trying to educate myself before going back to doctor! This is going on 4 months now
