Good question, and its likely you will never know exactly when you got trich, although usually when they test you for bv and yeast, they test you for trich.
Its possible that all the meds you used slowed the growth of trich enough that it didn't show on a test.
I agree - you'd think the Tindamax and the metrogel would have cured the trich. That's an interesting one, and I wish I could help more. Have you talked to your doctor about these questions?

Thank you so much for replying. He just said that the wet prep's are only 65% accurante and they can miss alot of stuff. I didnt ask him about the tindamax kicking it right away but I am going to take my 1 dose of tindamax and am hoping it works. also, do you think i should take a diflucan with it? to prevent it yeast or the next day. I even have a refill on terazol. I need this to go away it is very painful. Thank you so much for your reply.
Since you have gotten yeast before when treating bv, then you might want to take the diflucan. Don't use the terazol if you are going to use the diflucan.
If things are all irritated, and I'm guessing they still are, then pill forms might be best.
Also, this is just like flagyl - don't drink alcohol on it, and you might want to take it with food, and its best to take it with a full glass of water.

You're welcome, and I hope this works for you.

Okay, I still have a discharge....... I took the medicine thursday night and it is now sat morning is this normal? Even friday i still had alot of irritation. I took 2 grams of tindamax. Could i be resistant? also, is it true that my sheets and jeans could reinfect me. I have washed all my jeans and sheets but if i still have it i guess i will have to do it again.
OK you need to stop taking the meds. You can over-correct, and then end up with a host of new problems.
Even though you take the meds one time, it can take up to a week to see total improvement. I know its so frustrating, and you are sick of feeling so bad, but give this time, and see what happens.

I know this is upsetting, something similar happened to me. I've been sick for 6 months...about 2 months after I first slept with my current bf. Strange discharge, itching, irritation. The doc kept saying it was yeast....finally I became fed up and said just test me for everyhting, just in case--even though I've only slept with two guys in my whole life and I've always used protection. Apparently it's trich, although it wasn't present under the microscope it came back positive from the lab. Now I'm on Vandazole, felt better for the first couple days, and I just started itching and burning again (I had yeast when I had trich and got treated....think the antibio has brought it back, fingers crossed it is skin irritation). If I still have these issues I will check with the doc and make sure I can just go directly to Boric Acid. If you really have recurrent yeast those boric acid suppositories are the best (I've ALWAYS had yeast issues....only bv maybe once or twice in my life). You can't blame yourself for this and try not to get to upset with the doc's, these tests aren't 100%. I plan on always getting tested for everything from now on (assuming I'm sexually active....even if it's a monogamous and "safe" relationship). Did you know you can even catch trich from a wet towel? Strange but true, I think that's what happened to me after sharing a towel with my bf :-(
