I had unprotected sex with my bf for the first time on Sun, Nov 13, he did ejaculate inside me. He has already recently been tested for STD's and all were negative. After our relations starting Tue, Nov 15 in the evening after he left(no intercourse since Sun) I had the onset of frequent urination w/o burning or pain. Just a full feeling and bloating feeling. So on Wed, Nov 16 I started taking Macrobid, thinking maybe it was onset of UTI. I took the prescribed dose until Fri, Nov 18 and on Sat, Nov 19 I decided to go to the ER since the symptoms were no better. I have no insurance and no GP OR GYN. The ER doctor did a urine test for UTI and pregnancy even though I told her I had been taking Macrobid and I had just had sex only four days ago for first time in months. The tests needless to say were negative, she did a wet mount culture for BV and that too was negative. The doctor decided to give me an IM shot of Rocephin and eight 25mg pills of Azithromycin. I waited in ER for 30 min then was let go. I arrived home and ten minutes later was throwing up. I know by past experience with Keflex, that I do not work well with any Cephlosporins because I am allergic to Penicillin. So the doctor prescribed me the Z Pak on Sun, Nov 20 and I started taking it same day. I finished my dosage on Nov, 25 day after Thanksgiving and I still today have the frequent urge to urinate. I started my period today Thu, Dec 1. What is going on with me? I cannot relax and I have tried drinking more water and cutting back on coffee since onset of symptoms.
odds are your urine culture will come back negative to be honest. You've had 3 different antibiotics now.
there are some viruses that can cause issues like this. We don't test for them routinely because it's too expensive and too hard to get accurate results. They have to just run their course and normally do within a month ( I know, a heck of a long time to feel like you have an uti!!!! ). Have you been taking anything like the otc urinary pain relief tablets to help with pain? they really do help but be aware that they stain your urine bright orange and will stain underwear.
also make sure your new partner and you have both had herpes testing as part of your std testing. it's typically not a part of routine std testing and it's certainly worth ruling out also at this point.

well went to the doctor to see my GP today, Dec 1, 2011. They did another urine test for UTI and pregnancy and both were negative, funny thing..while at the dr office I started my period. So. They sent my urine test to the lab on site and said to check back with them in 72 hrs inorder for the lab to allow any bacteria not appearing in their tests....to grow. they also made me an appointment with a urologist to rule out overactive bladder. I still do not see how having sex could cause such a bad reaction, and then two days later this happens pee thing happens. I've clearly had sex before and I have three children and have never had bladder, incontinence issues, or weak bladder or "otherwise" weakness anywhere below. UGGHH
I do have an appt tomorrow, Friday with a doctor apparently I do have a GP. Anyhow, on my first post I stated that I started my period today DEC 1, 2011, and I've been on time with periods coming every three weeks. I usually start in the middle of the night or day of. I know I still have this whole day, I did notice a slight light brown discharge which isn't fully discharging from my body. I already have three children, two young adults and an 10 1/2 year old. I was married for four years(no kids with him) and divorce was final May this year. Not once during our marriage did I get pregnant. Prior to that I have not had any pregnancies other then my kids and my last one who's 10 1/2. My periods used to be every 28 dys for 7 dys. In the last five six yrs my periods have changed from 28 to 21 days and last only 5 days. I clearly need to see the doctor and find out about possibly being pregnant now as well. Too much going on.
To follow up with the Dr. Something is going on and needs to be investigated more.
