Swollen tonsils, possible STD?

I had unprotected sex and oral sex with someone for the first time about 3 days ago. My tonsils have been swelling up so I have difficulty swallowing. Could this be a possible STD? Keep in mind I am sixteen and getting checked could lead to my mother seriously getting mad at me, so if it's nothi to worry about let me know.

I would rather suggest to go for test for herpes and syphilis.

Thank you! I realized that it's a cold that I had before the sex happened. Ha but I'm afraid to ever not use them again so lesson learned!

Unprotected sex puts you at risk for STD's and HIV. Your risk overall if it was with another 16 year old was probably low.
Your symptom does not make me think you have a STD, but overall I would consider testing to make sure. If you are going to have sex then you need to be responsible enough to use condoms and if you don't use condoms then test. But I will stress USE CONDOMS!
