No, a true UTI isn't sexually transmitted.
There are infections that are that can be very similar to a UTI, though.

uti's are sometimes sexually transmitted ecspecially for men, i know just from the past
Hi there -
A urine test will only test for gonorrhea, chlamydia and NGU. You also need to tell the doctor that you want these tests done. Asking for a urine test might not include these.
Aj
Sorry wasnt clear in my question. Was asking what you answered how soon after contact can a urinary test accurately show if you have any of those infections.
thanks
A urinary tract infection is not sexually transmitted.
If you are wanting to know about sexually transmitted infections, like gonorrhea, chlamydia, etc., then you can test for gonorrhea and chlamydia (and NGU if you are male) at a week. Syphilis takes up to 6 weeks, herpes takes up to 4 months, and HIV takes up to 3 months.
