What's going on?

One week ago I had unprotected sex with someone I have known a very long time (6 years). Two days later I was washing myself with my NEW SummersEve pH balance bar, which I believe irritated my vagina since a few days after using it I was itchy. I didn't think much about it, and slept had the unprotected sex a few days later. I had also started my period the same day I found a small itty bitty tear in the folds of my vagina. Of course my mind jumped to herpes immediately and I've been doing a lot of research since. I spoke with the person I had sex with and told them my concern but they assured me it's nothing. Now suddenly that have a sore throat but apparently tested negative for strep?
I have no symptoms. I'm not itchy, it doesn't burn nor smell. It is not a bump on my vagina and it is not discolored in any way. I honestly am surprised I noticed but I couldn't find it a day later until I started tugging to find it. I am sure I'm just being extremely paranoid, and I plan on going in for a yearly pap anyways but I have a toddler and I do not want to spread it by changing his diaper or feeding him. I just want a heads up. Does this sound like herpes or is it just a coincidence & im paranoid??

I should clear the first part up. I bought the new soap a week prior to having intercourse which a few days after using the soap I noticed I was itchy, then a few days after being itchy is when I had intercourse. Sorry.
