clarification prostatitis and STDs

I read everywhere on the internet that prostatitis can be caused by STDs but on this forum doctors have often said that prostatitis was rarely, if ever caused by an STD.
Could someone be kind enough to clarify this point.

Thanks

Because the number of all people having prostatis AND being at risk of STD is probably quite low (not a majority of people have a risky sex life) this number is actually quite high.
I mean if 20% of the population is at risk of STDs that would make the chances of their prostatis being caused by an STD of 1 in 4 and even higher if less than 20% of the population was at risk of STD.
