Swab Test

I went to my gyn the other day due to continuing symptoms (burning after urinating) and after being on multiple medications that do not help.  The doctor told me it was a bacterial infection, and did a swab test and sent it off. Tests came back normal, but would this test show sti's etc?  I am not too concerned about have that sort of infection, but just extremely frustrated.  Thanks in advance.

I had a test done 11 weeks ago and tests came back negative.  I was wondering, do you have to urinate a lot to get accurate result?

you should specifically ask what's included.  I don't think that includes Gono and Chlamydia.  As far as I know it includes BV, Trich, and yeast.

It was a vaginitis panel so I believe that includes it all.

You should follow up with your doctor and ask if she is doing an STI screening.  She may have only cultured the swab for enteric bacteria and not specific STI's.  If you haven't been screened recently and have new sexual partners you should be sure you are screened.  Even if you have a regular partner and you're having this problem, your doctor might want to include STI's screening to rule out all possibilities.
