trauma

I saw where Dr Handsfield mentioned in another forum that vaginal blisters/sores might be from "trauma".  I developed these after a particularly rough sex event with a new (and now GONE) partner.  I went to the dr and he took one look at me and said this is not herpes but swabbed the area for tests anyway, that I am still waiting for results on.  His exact words were "this is trauma and injury".  Can someone please elaborate on this and how this might look similar to other std sores?

Nothing to be mortified or humiliated about.  Even if it is herpes, it will be ok, I promise.  Its just a virus, and it doesn't mean anything about you.

But lets not get ahead of ourselves here - just get the results first.  :)

Thanks so much!  I am mortified!!!  My Doc seems convinced it's not the Herpes virus. I however, am so humiliated and afraid that I've convinced myself that it is.  Thank you for your comment!

Imagine falling and scraping your knee.  That causes bleeding, scraping, rawness, etc.  Think of how certain pairs of shoes cause blisters every time you wear them - that's from something rubbing against the same spot on your foot for awhile.

That's what rough sex can do - causes irritation, little tears, blisters, etc., especially if there isn't enough lubrication.

I'm glad he did some testing, though.  That means he's a good doc.
