purell won't cause actual infections.
glad you are getting better answers now and treatments that are working :)
update... went to doc. doc said discontiue cipro, gave me zithro and doxy, 2 days into treatment i think that i am already improving, hard to tell exactly because i seem to have devoloped a cold also... anyways do you think the purell could have caused this infection? as i did use it at the opening of my ureathra.. and if so will the medication take care of an infection that could have been caused by and anitseptic?
Grace how right you were...cipro has don't nothing for me should have listened to you, anyway today I finally had some illy white discharge, and I have some very very sore possibly swollen testicles, I could really use and opinion on these symtoms, also still have the pain after urination now and then. From what I have Read looks like it could be NGU? I did test neg, for gon and chlamydia remember. I need all the info I can get as I am going to the doctor tomorrow! I am really hoping to get on the road to recovery here it's been two months of this!
I don't recommend any self treating at all. overuse of antibiotics is why half my patients have antibiotic resistant bacterial infections :(
get a 2nd opinion from another urologist if you aren't pleased with your current one.
Sorry grace, I will keep it all in this post, as you read I still have these symptoms I feel I knowy body well and can tell that there is something going on down there. My urologist has been no help What so ever, I am going to self treat with cipro as I have a full prescription that my wife got earlier this year. Your thoughts would really be appreciated, my symptoms burning in the urethra, sore testicles, lower abdomal discomfort ( pubic bone area )
thank you so much for the response!
purell is not meant to be used on our sensitive genital skin. it was the purell that caused your twinges. fyi - washing up after sex is meaningless except for to make you smell better. std's don't lay on the skin to work their way into your body, they are transmitted during the sex act itself.
most adults test + for hsv1. It's incredibly common, most of us have it orally and most of us don't get obvious cold sores to know that we are infected. You've probably had hsv1 for a long time but because you've never been tested before for herpes, just never knew it. 1 out of every 2-3 of us has it.
at this point it's probably just you paying far too much attention to your genital area.
