Good for you for not allowing that boy to have sex with you.

I agree with everything PrincessChandaLeigh says.  
It sounds to me he was just after sex and would have either dumped you straight afterwards or would have just been going out with you for the sex.

You are 17.  Do not have sex just because your friends may say they are having it.  Only have sex if you find the right person, have a stable relationship and if you BOTH want to have an intimate relationship.  

You did the right thing to refuse him.

Sweetheart, just a little advice from what I've learned. If a guy you just started dating is pushing you for sex, that's all he wants and will probably dump you soon after you have sex with him. I know it's hard to not "follow trend"  when young but believe me if you stand your ground. You won't regret it once you understand that you deserve respect and you won't get respect if you don't respect yourself! Either tell him you respect yourself and say no or dump this loser. He's a typical idiot guy and you need to find the one that's not typical and will always respect you.

I see. He must be very new and I'm a little surprised he's already pushing you for sex. I say a little because I take it he's young and young men can have raging hormones.

Any guy that truly respects you will not push you to have sex when you don't want to. I take it this is a new boyfriend since you just broke up with your other one? Or, did you get back together with the old boyfriend?
Do not do anything you do not want to do. If the guy keeps pushing or gets mad dump him right away.
