Sex = Pain

My boyfriend and I recently celebrated our first year anniversary, and I decided that I was ready to "give it to him." We bought condoms and everything. However, we could not have intercourse for one reason: the pain. No matter how he tried or what position we were in, it hurt like hades!! I couldn't even let him finger me. If he tried to enter anyway, I would resort to fighting him off (I left a couple scratches on left arm). I have an extremely low tolerance for pain, and I just can't seem to get passed it. I really love my boyfriend, and I'm not afraid of him leaving me, but I am afraid that I will never be able to please him. Please someone tell me what to do!!!

The first time hurt for me also. trust me, it gets better. just take it slow and tell him not to rush anything. lube should be your best friend during these excursions. also, what worked for me when i was first starting to have sex was to have him lube up his fingers a little and finger me for a little while, first with one finger then when that stopped hurting or i felt comfortable i would tell him to add another. this can also be fun foreplay for you! this gives him a chance to practice his oral on you and really find out where to touch you that makes you feel best. after maybe 3 fingers, then i would let him lube up his penis and insert SLOWLY! The key is to relax as well. if your not relaxed, your vagina will be tensed and tighter. while thats pleasurable for him, its not so pleasurable for you. Good Luck!!!

The first time usually does hurt. Though there are things you can do to make it less painful. First off there should be a lot of foreplay, and not just jumping into the sex part. That way you are turned on enough to make natural lubricant and are not tensed up. You really need to relax too and try to enjoy it. If you are too nervous, then it will be very difficult for him to penetrate you. During the foreplay have him slowly finger you, starting with only one finger. Communicate with him about how you feel, you shouldn't have to 'fight him off' like you did before. Tell him it hurts and to stop or to go slower. You can also try buying lubricant, if that can help you. good luck.

The first attempts at intercourse almost always hurt... with each time hurting less the previous. Until, it doesn't hurt at all.

Are you using a lubricant along with those condoms? That can a big difference in minimizing the pain that is usually felt when the intact hymen is initially ruptured and torn during intercourse. Just have your boyfriend penetrate you slowly and gently... without penetrating all the way... for at least the first several attempts at intercourse. And, use plenty of lubricant.

Another option would be to have a doctor surgically cut the hymen.
