If your hymen had not been broken before, then the pain and the blood may have been from the break in the hymen.
The other cause of feeling sore and having a bleed (this may be from your urethra) is that you have a condition called Cystytis. This is a very common problem when people that engage in rampant sex and sometimes is referred to as the "Honeymoon syndrome". The doctor will test your urine and if it is positive for Cystitis (inflammation of the bladder) he will prescribe the correct meds for you. You do need to drink plenty of water even if it may sting or burn when you pass urine.
If you have got cystitis, having a tumbler full of water with a teaspoonful of Bicarbonate of Soda with help to neutralise the acidic urine that causes the discomfort. You can do this once every hour for no more than 3 times. Or you can drink water with freshly squeezed lemon juice that will also neutralise acidic urine. Although lemons are acidic, the composition is changed once in the digestive tract.
The other problem may be a fungal infection. This can cause soreness, itching and sometimes pain. You will need an antifungal cream that is specifically for the genital area which you can get on prescription or purchase it from a pharmacy. The pharmacist can advice on this. There is also a one single dose oral capsule called Fluconazole that can be used and this too can be purchased from the pharmacy without a prescription or on doctor's prescription.
If you are unsure of what you have, the doctor will do a urine test and can either examine you or take a swab to be analysed at a laboratory to confirm whether you have a bacterial of a fungal infection.
Bacterial infection usually present with symptoms of a foul smelling discharge. Fungal infections can present with symptoms of sometimes a white discharge, or just itching and/or soreness.
Do not use soaps and shower gels and only use a non perfumed soap or one that has the same pH level as our skins. Do not wear tight trousers or tights and only wear cotton underwear. Eat a healthy and well balanced diet with fresh fruit and veg and cut down on sugary and refined foods.
Fungus loves moist damp areas and a sweet environment. Sometimes having a course of antibiotics can bring about a fungal infection. If you do have diabetes it is very important to keep your sugar levels under control.
To help ease the itchiness and soreness you can put in a handful or two of oats into your bath.
A good home remedy to help alleviate soreness and itching is to apply a natural set yogurt to your washed and gently dried genital area. This not only cools down the irritation but also helps by reducing any inflammation.
If you are confirmed as having a bacterial and/or fungal infection, your boyfriend may need to be treated too. Sometimes men to not get any symptoms, but can pass on the bugs back. If he starts to feel an irritation or itching on his genital area, then he will have a fungal infection and he can also follow the advice that I have mentioned above.
Best wishes.
It sounds like you may possibly have an infection. Especially with the soreness and itching symptoms. I would recommend seeing your gynecologist. You will be tested to see if you have a yeast or bacterial infection. Yes, there is a possibility of bleeding during sex if you have an infection.
