You will need to have your partner tested, or he will just be treated with a course of treatment, just as precautionary.
I cant remember much of it now, but I think mine was a one or more dose, anyway, it made me really nauseous and was not a pleasant time.
You should be refraining from sex until you get your partner tested/treated as to avoid reinfecting. You shouldve been given some information pamphlet for the medication, etc or the pharmacist shouldve told you more information. Also you could give the pharmacy a call and ask to speak to the pharmacist about the medication, precautions, etc.
I don't know how long it takes for a antibiotic to work on chlamydia but it's EXTREMELY important to have your partner tested with you. If your partner wasn't treated or tested for STI when you discovered you had one you two could pass it back and forth. It's possible to not show any signs of the STI so a person may not know they have it. So it's possible you got the STI from him or gave it to him before finding out you had it; and if he doesn't get treated for it it's possible he'll give it straight back to you. You need to be open with him, tell him what's going on and make sure he gets tested. You may also want to switch to condoms for a few weeks until you're sure you're both safe.
Tia,
Please IGNORE this last comment - it is of NO use to you what-so-ever and is 100% not true.
Chlamydia is an easily treatable infection, and is usually cleared up with a course of anti-microbials or anti-biotic medication i.e. Penicillin.
I would advise that you go back to your doctor and explain the situation and if nessecary - ensure your partner is tested.
Were you not given any more than one single dose of medication to treat yourself?
Best wishes
