Hi all, Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!
I am female 45, and I'm not proud of it, but I'm not even going to lie- I totally abused my skin when I was a teenager by laying out in the sun. I'm Italian--back then we thought people of Mediterranian descent could handle the sun. If I knew then... anyway-I have lots of moles-my mother and father both do/did as do all of my siblings. Most are just typical moles. I have a few that are concerning. I'm a little nervous...
First- on my back: it's been there for years. It's always been round, tan/medium brown, raised and the size of a pencil eraser. Now it has uneven edges, has a brown streak down the center, and feels like its getting bigger-but my husband says not a lot--but it does itch.
Second-I have two on my right hand: First is on my right index finger-below my first knuckle-towards the inside of my finger. I never had anything there. One day it began itching like crazy. After about 3 days you could see the patch start to appear..and slowly over 7-10 days time a pink patch that turned light brown. It's definitely not round-it looks like Michigan's UP. At the end of that patch is a smaller round patch that is dark brown in color. It's totally flat.
Third: On the back of right hand, right over the bone that connects the wrist to the index finger) It doesn't feel like a tumor or anything that goes deep. Just on the skin. It's not round-definitely shaped weird. It's dark brown, def not black, but while it's not raised a lot-it's enough so that you can tell it has a different feel to it than the skin around it.
My niece is a GP in another state. After I asked my husband to watch the one on my back because it was itching, she was in town and he asked her to look at the ones on my hands without me noticing...she approached me and said she noticed them-and I should probably have them checked as soon as possible. I just don't want to appear hysterical to the doctor-to you guys,or to anyone else, and I kind of consider this niece a worrywart....something I'm not. Does anyone have any ideas like what this might sound like? I'll go to the doctor-and I know you cant diagnose me, but does this sound like something that need to be followed up on? We don't have skin cancer in our family that we know of-my father passed from Oral cancer, metasticized to bones, CUP 17 years ago. He had many dark spots that began changing shape while he was ill.
Thanks for listening and taking the time to share your knowledge! It's much appreciated.
