Hi StressedInsomniac, how are you doing? I do understand how hard it would be to undergo the stress due to sleep deprivation and altered daily routine activities, as you might not be able to concentrate on anything. It is important for you to get it evaluated soon by a sleep doctor and a neurologist as you say to get into school/college in couple of months. Do yoga and meditation to overcome stress. A change in place can be some help. Try to follow a healthy sleep habit and keep physically active. Consult your doctor for a sleep study and update on the advice. Take care.

Forgot to mention one thing. If your mind races at night thinking about things you want to remember in the morning, it's best to go ahead and write it down so you can dismiss trying to remember it.

Hi Ben. College will be crazy-busy enough without entering it with disordered sleep. For one thing, I would read up on sleep hygiene and be diligent to implement healthy sleep habits. Have you had a medical checkup to be sure you don't have a cause for the prolonged periods of sleeplessness? Also, a sleep study may be in order. Some people with sleep disorders avoid sleep because subconsciously their body knows sleep will not be a pleasant thing. Do you have any symptoms of sleep apnea perhaps? Sleep is important to health, both physical and mental, so it is good you are interested in resolving this. Best wishes.
