[HELP!] Need to break off Stilnox

Hello,

I'm ex-military with Asperger's, and because the decision to join the army for 2 years was made by the state and not me, the strain and anxiety that came along with the challenges to deal with the army has caused me to sleep for no more than 3-4 hours at a time.

I asked my pshrink for help and just last week, he gave me 3 weeks' worth of Stilnox, 12.5mg each and after taking the thing for 6 days, I simply cannot sleep without the pills and I'm scared as heck. What can I do about it? This stuff is expensive and I cannot forsee myself living with the expense of having Stilnox as my ball and chain.

Please help.

Never say that druge are not a soloytion, that all depends on hat drug is being taken. Zoloft has been a real lifesaver for me.
I just thought I would put my 2 cents in:) I hate to see anyone having health problems of any kind. I have had, and still do have health problems. I will for the rest of my life, so yeah, without the Zoloft, I would really be in bad, bad shape. It has been a real lifesaver

Hi, I was prescribed ambein before, and I will never, ever take it again! I couldn't remember anything from the night before. Also my family told me I was acting very strange about half an hour after I took it. I know everyone is different, but I know many people ith the same problem with ambein. I just told my doctor that I didn't want that anymmore, and could he prescribe something else. Well he put me on zoloft, that takes anywhere from 2-6 weeks to kick in. But I am sleeping well now and, no more anxiety as well. You should forget about melatonin and all that other stuff they say works. That's just a big waste of money. I hope you will talk to your doctor about getting another medication, you should only take ambein for short term only. I don't understand hy your doctor had let you be on this bad stuff for so long. Let me kno how your doing

Perhaps looking into diet, exercise and meditation will aid your efforts. Drugs aren't a solution, they should be used to force sleep in emergencies and for an extremely small cycle to reinstantiate your cycle.

Female company might help.. just a thought

You can try to taper back a little at a time. Get some Melatonin. It's an amino acid and it aides sleep.Take it 1/2 before bed. It's not addicting. Don't take it if you're on an antidepressant.
Good luck!
