wake up and still dreaming

If I wake my boyfriend up, he will wake up but his still talking and acting like his dreaming.  He sometimes doesnt "wake up" for 20 mintues even though his eyes are open.  It kind of freaks me out.  Was wondering if anyone knew what this is or experiences it.

I would see a Doctor because our brain (cerebral cortex) controls our body during sleep so we don't psychically act out our dreams but sometimes something interferes with the paralysis and that's when people begin to psychically act out their dreams.

Rapid eye movement behavior disorder (RBD): Acting out violent or dramatic dreams while in REM sleep.

I don't know if this could be it or not. Maybe see a doctor because that does not sound normal.
