Sleep Apnea How much damage has it caused

I just found out that I have severe sleep apnea. After years of wondering what was wrong with me. I finally told my primary that I wanted a sleep study. He said that I told him that I sleep allot. I told him that I have every symptom and didn't feel my fatigue was due to my age as he suggested. He reluctantly ordered the test and found out it was severe. My results were an average of 2 apnea a minute and less than 75% oxygen fifteen times. The following test was with the mask and they still couldn't correct it. The doctor said my sinuses are interfering with the test.
My symptoms include dizziness, cognitive problems, memory problems, unbelievable fatigue, headache, eye pain, diarrhea, acid reflux and indigestion.
My fear is that my brain has been damaged by the lack of oxygen and sleep. I know that stress, anxiety and depression also play a part but the anxiety and fear are winning this battle.
The doctor won't prescribe a machine until he gets my sinus problem resolved. By that time I will probably be dead.
I am 47 yrs old 5' 11" tall 180 pounds. That should prove that weight has very little to do with this disorder.

yeah my BMI is about 24 which is similar to yours and I still have the central apneas/hypopneas.  I'm trying to look for a neurologist who can treat this but I don't know where to find a good one

I'm going to get tonsil surgery and maybe adenoid surgery and also get my deviated septum repaired.  I'm hoping it will help a little with my breathing and sleep apnea.
You should have a doctor who can get things approved with your insurance

I don't know how long I have had this problem. I know that it's been at least 7-10 years. I am an electrician and need to use math everyday. I don't think my skills are that good anymore, I never use a calculator but struggle at times. My short term memory is the problem. I constantly have to write things down. The doctor says that most of my memory will come back. He said it will take about three months. I read that vitamin B1 can help with repairing brain tissue. Make sure to get the fat soluble version.
I initially thought I might have early alzheimers,  But low oxygen levels can cause dementia.
This whole situation aggravates me because the medical industry failed to do their job. I get a physical every year, and often complained about the symptoms.  Now I know I have it and I still can't get any help.
The doctor is worried about the insurance company. I won't get a Cpap until the middle of January because of my sinus problem.

can you do math well still?  I don't think I can because of the years of sleep apnea and I'm worried my brain is permanently damaged.  that's why you need to use cpap/bipap every night to prevent any organ damage.  I'm getting memory problems also especially with learning new things and short term memory- maybe it's due to the 75% oxygen levels and my problems getting enough therapy time on the bipap machine

I just have obstructive sleep apnea. I also have problems swallowing when awake. My throat closes up when I swallow pills or think about swallowing. I have a size 18 neck that's short.
My headaches and anxiety and memory problems come and go. I can memorize a list of 20 items then forget where I parked the car. I can do math bombs at 35 a minute then struggle with addition. The problem seems to be connected to that floating feeling I get.
The doctor said it's related to stress anxiety and depression.
But I know that I am not on top of my game. I struggle at work and feel as though my brain has been running on empty.

I'm also really worried that I have gotten brain damage and organ damage from the low oxygen 75%

I also have low oxygen at 75 and headaches and fatigue and memory problems.
Have you found anything that works for you?  I'm on bipap now and still my sleep is fragmented and I can only get a few hours of therapy most nights.
You really need to get a cpap/bipap as soon as possible.  I have hypopneas and central apneas what do you have?
