So your husband is still snoring with the mask.  Wasn't the mask supposed to correct the problem regarding sleep apnea?  I have some real concerns about this.  I went in for the sleep study with the mask and was worse with the mask and came out feeling horrible.  Headache, sleepy, sick feeling, fuzzy headed.  Prior to the study I had loads of energy.  (type A personality) Could work circles around anyone.  After that test, I felt drugged.  Why would things not change?  Has anyone explained it to you or your husband?
Thanks  Jeannie

This is exactly the probvlem my husband is having and we are going to try some of the suggestions that Cateyes and Cyrt talked about. He gets a new mask every 3 months, however he lost some weight and we are having a terrible time finding a mask that does not leak. He is still snoring with the mask on. He has a deviated septum and I don't know if this contributes to the problem or not.
Good luck. Let me know if you resolve the nose problem.

Hello, Madgirl.

I use a Respro Mirage Elite mask that has a knob at the top of the mask that adjusts the pressure against the forehead and nose.  I used to get cuts on the nose from my masks and now I don't even get redness.  The other issue may be your mask size.  I was originally given a three different medium sized masks and all gave me problems.  I finally went to the place where I had my sleep study done and the technician sais that my mask size was too small.  So now I wear a large mask and it's much more comfortable.

Another idea is to ask your CPAP home care provider to send a person to your house with a few different masks and sizes.  Then, you can try them on while lying on your own bed and pillow while attached to your CPAP machine.  This can give you a range of masks to choose from.

There's a great forum for sleep apnea sufferers.  It's called www.apneasupport.org.  There are many apnea patients with years of experience who can guide you to the most comfortable mask.

Best of luck!
