Hi,
Thanks for the update. Thyroid issues such as hypothyroidism is an uncommon cause of peripheral neuropathy or damage to the peripheral nerves supplying the arms and legs. Hypothyroidism can cause fluid retention resulting in swollen tissues that can exert pressure on peripheral nerves. The treatment is indeed directed at managing the underlying hypothyroidism and treating the resulting symptoms. Do keep us posted with the outcome. Take care and best regards.
premininary diagnosis is a neuropathy potentially linked to thyroid (which is under control but may be under treated)
Hi,
How is you wife? Are there other symptoms present? Is there a family history of diabetes or hyper tension? It is good that the eye doctor and gynecologist's s evaluation are fine. Numbness is usually associated with neurological issues. She may need to have this checked by her doctor for proper evaluation. Prescribed medications for her thyroid problem is highly recommended. Take care and do keep us posted.
