Hi- I hadn't looked at my Medhelp for while and tonight found your message to me.  I see a professional beat me to your post here.

Did you start having your menses  (periods) just recently?  I remember I was quite irregular in timing of menses at first- in fact for so long, a gyn put me on birth control pills to try to get me regulated.   Unfortunately, I didn't get proper instructions from the gyn as to when to begin and I wound up with a double period and horrible cramps, so if they try these on you for regulation (gave to me for three months), be sure you find out when to start them.

Soreness seemed to come with the mensing, but many, many years later, I did have endometriosis discovered, so I don't know if that was why.

Causes of skipping four months definitely should be explored with your gyn doctor.  Sometimes stress or a thyroid issue- just a couple of examples, can mess up your menstruating.  They should check some endocrine hormones and see if everything is functioning the way it should.  You also want to make sure you are eating regularly and are not stressed out.

Hopefully, you are saving that precious gift God gave you for a wedding present and it's not possible you could have had a miscarriage?

The difficulty in urinating is not normal, even if you are early on in having started menstruating.  Sometimes blood clots can be hard to pass- using a moist heating pad and exercise may help with that, but the urine should still come unhindered.  The gyn doctor may want to do an ultrasound (have them to the transabdominal kind if they do) to check for abnormalities besides checking your urine for signs of infection.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi!
Actually it is not normal to skip periods for four months and then have a painful period with pain in vaginal area and urinary tract infection (UTI) like symptoms. The only time missing periods four months in a row can be considered normal is when a girl is just starting to have periods, is pregnant or is on road to menopause. It is import to get this investigated. If you have been sexually active, this can be a miscarriage or UTI or a STD. PCOD and endometriosis can also cause similar symptoms. Consult a gynecologist regarding this. Take care!

The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history. Hence this reply to your post should only be considered as a guiding line and you must consult your doctor at the earliest for your medical problem.
